Tasmania JackJumpers and Jewels High Performance Training Centre
The new home for the Tasmania JackJumpers and Jewels will provide our National Basketball League teams with a modern training facility that is the best of its kind in Australia.
Located in the Kingborough Sports Precinct, the 3,365 square metre facility will feature two courts (including a show court), a gymnasium, wet and dry recovery areas, medical and rehabilitation facilities, change rooms for both teams, kitchen and lounge facilities, administration and meeting facilities, and a merchandise shop.
The centre has been designed to ensure it is accessible for community use, fostering inclusivity and local engagement with basketball, while having a dedicated facility also frees up community court capacity in other venues.
Infrastructure Tasmania, within the Department of State Growth, is leading the planning and delivery of this project, working with the JackJumpers, Jewels and Kingborough Council.
The main works contract was awarded to Fairbrother and construction commenced in June 2025, and is expected to finish in mid-2026.
Project Update 17 February 2026
Construction is on schedule and going well, with the new High Performance Training Centre taking shape.
TasWater contractors have been upgrading the local water infrastructure to provide capacity for the new centre, with some roadworks and temporary water outages in the area. TasWater is aiming to complete their works by the end of April. Our thanks to the local community for its patience and understanding.
