Wilkinsons Point

MyState arena

The Tasmanian Government has committed $125 million to realise the vision for the Wilkinsons Point precinct development.

This vision includes the recently redeveloped MyState Bank Arena and a new multi-sport facility - both important community facilities for greater Hobart and key attractors for complementary commercial development.

The proposed multi-sport facility will integrate a contemporary indoor community multi-sport facility with high-performance training facilities for Tasmania’s National Basketball League (NBL) team, the JackJumpers.

These facilities will encourage the increased participation of young people in sport and provides more elite sporting content for Tasmanians.

In addition, Wilkinsons Point infrastructure will be upgraded to support the existing and future facilities, including more parking, and sustainable and active transport options.

Private commercially funded development such as retail and hospitality are planned to complement the sporting and entertainment facilities.

Developing Wilkinsons Point will provide a new sports and entertainment precinct on a prime waterfront site, activating previously underused land that is well connected to Glenorchy and greater Hobart.
